Secondary School Supply Teaching Jobs in London

Are you a supply teacher looking for secondary teaching jobs in London?

At World Class Teachers we specialise in finding supply teaching jobs in London.

Our secondary school teacher jobs encompass a range of roles from day to day supply to long term and permanent positions across London, particularly in areas of West London.

Teaching Secondary School pupils (ages 11-16) or Sixth Form/College (ages 16-18) can be an inspirational career choice, and it certainly isn’t short of challenges.

These are some of the most significant years of a young person’s life; not only are pupils discovering their interests and developing their skills, but also learning more about the world around them and beginning to carve out their futures.

As a secondary school teacher, you will assist and guide these bright young adults into further education or their chosen career path.

Secondary education in the UK is divided into three tiers, and teachers are generally expected to teach up to A Level.

  • Key Stage 3 (ages 11-14)
  • Key Stage 4 (ages 14-16)
  • Sixth Form/A Levels (ages 16-18)

Secondary school teaching is ideal for teachers who want to specialise in one or two subjects, rather than cover the whole curriculum as in primary school teaching roles.

Classes and teaching style will take a more structured approach. Teachers will have a great deal of involvement with other teaching professionals and parents or carers, as they monitor and feedback on student progress.

Individuals with a true passion for their subject area will thrive as a secondary school teacher, as they are required to keep up with new developments and research topic areas for study.

At World Class Teachers, we require our UK Secondary school teaching candidates to possess at minimum:

  • A Bachelor of Education or a Post Graduate Certificate of Education
  • A valid passport and visa which allows you to work in the UK
  • Experience in teaching the UK curriculum, or a curriculum which is very similar

Specific requirements for our secondary teacher roles will vary by job or by school, so please don’t forget to read the description thoroughly before sending your application.
