Key Stage 2 Teacher Jobs in London

Are You a Supply Teacher Looking For Key Stage 2 Teaching Jobs in London?

World Class Teachers can help you find your ideal Key Stage Two teaching position at one of our many partner primary schools in London, whether you’re looking for day to day supply, long term or permanent work.

In general, most primary schools will expect their teachers to cover particular year groups in either KS1 or KS2, but there may be occasions teaching across the board is required.

To see our current available positions please see below, or search for a specific job to suit your qualifications using the filter system to sort by subject specialism or role type. Alternatively, if you would like us to search for a specific teaching job to match your requirements please do not hesitate to contact us or register now.

Key Stage 2 at primary school spans a much longer period of pupils’ lives than Key Stage 1, covering Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 (ages 7-11). These school years are dedicated to developing the basic skills learned by students during the earlier stages of their education, through focusing more heavily on understanding concepts and ideas rather than just the ability to perform a task.

As in Year 2 at KS1, pupils will be assessed at the end of Year 6 via SATs tests; in some schools they may also have the option to take the 11+ exam, a pass in which will enable them to attend grammar school.

As a KS2 teacher you will help to guide pupils as their perception of the world around them takes on a greater level of complexity. Inevitably this comes with its own challenges, but the rewards speak for themselves as you watch the children progress in preparation for Secondary School.

You should have a firmer grasp on subjects covered as children will be developing their knowledge alongside and may well ask complex questions. It is very common for pupils to be working at different levels so your teaching style should accommodate each of these, but this arguably allows for greater flexibility and creativity in teaching style.

At World Class Teachers we require our KS2 teaching candidates to possess at minimum:

  • A Bachelor of Education or Primary PGCE
  • A valid passport and visa which allows you to work in the UK
  • Experience in teaching the UK curriculum, or a curriculum which is very similar

Specific requirements for our Key Stage 2 teacher roles will vary by job or by school, so please don’t forget to read the description thoroughly before sending your application.
